Schröedinger’s cat through Piero della Francesca influence, 2010 [Installation technique: aluminium, electromagnetic field, martial arts tatami, varnished wooden stand / overall dimensions: 109x255x100cm]
Besides combining different disciplinary references, including a martial arts tatami and a thought experiment devised by the Austrian physicist Erwin Schrödinger in 1935 to visualize what in quantum physics is defined as superimposition of state, it presents in the sculptural reproduction, mirroring and with Piero della Francesca’s egg (from the Montefeltro Altarpiece in the Pinacoteca di Brera, Milan) in perpetual rotation, an equally valid pictorial essence, even though it is represented by an explosive origin, a big bang that pierces its two-dimensionality. -
